Chapters 1 & 2 What is Government pg 4-21 and Foundations of American Government pg. 22-49. Grading handout and Syllabus must be returned signed. Syllabus will go into student's notebook. Pass out books and Civics activity books. Pray for Government Officials handout.

Chapters 3 and 4 The Constitution and the People pg. 50-70 American Freedoms pg. 94-113. Go over current event handout and requirements. First current event is due Thursday.

Week 3 August 27-31

Ch. 5 Due Process and Equal Protection p. 114-135. Unit I Review.

Thursday: Unit I test (current event #2 due). Notebook due (check #1). HW begin unit 2 Choosing and Influencing Government Leaders

Week 4 September 3-7

Ch. 6 Citizenship pg. 138-157. Ch 7 Political Behavior pg. 158-173 (current event #3 due)

Week 5 September 10-14

*For this class, most reading will have to be read at home ahead of time. We will then take notes and discuss the material during class and begin the bookwork or handouts at the end of class. They are to be completed at home each night as homework. Little class time will be available to read or do the written work. This is a very fast aced class as we have a lot of material to cover and only 18 weeks to do so. Please check the website.
