In The Beginning

The early years of this school can be traced back to the Pike County High School Co-op.

This began as a one room school house in the year 2003. There were approx. thirty students in middle school and high school.

There were approx 10 elementary students in another building. There were four full time teachers and 30 subjects were taught including the basics.

The one-room school house idea was used where younger and older students could learn alongside each other. The older students provided role models for the younger .

Education was what mattered most and the co-op provided the atmosphere where parents and tutors could work together in a Christian setting.

The co-op provided scholatic field trips, academic clubs, service projects, devotional lesson, students government, swim team, music, and sports lessons.

Through this co-op students worked on a yearbook, attended a prom, and received an accredited diploma at graduation ceremonies. School was Monday thru Thursday with Friday used for extra curricular activities.

This school continued to grow and was later moved to more space at Mt Gilead Baptist Church.

more to come later......
