Bible - Understanding the Times

I am married to Dr. Penney Carden M. ED., and we have five children, ages 14 to 29 years.

At the age of 16 Jesus Christ changed my life and my desinty. He forgave my sins at an altar of prayer in a revival service. One year later I sensed Him calling me to teach His word. While in college at 19 years of age I married Penney Harwell. We have been in love for 31 years. six months later I became a pastor and spent the next 30 years of my life serving as a pastor. Many, many hours have been spent in studing the Bible, the christian faith, moral issues, and the human nature during these years.

My bachelor's degree is from Luther Rice Seminary and my Masters of Arts in Religion is from Trevecca Nazarene University. This year I will be teaching Bible/Religion classes here at FCA and will also serve as a part-time staff member at the church we attend.

Understanding the Times.

To accomplish this , traditional christian beliefs are contrasted with five other major worldviews.

They are : Islam, Secular Humanism, Marxist-Leninism, Cosmic Humanism(New-Age), and Postmodernism. We will study them in detail, using lecture, discussion, reading, web-quests, written reports, blog assignments, debates, term papers, etc.
